I'm sorry I had to take a picture of a picture. I had to turn this in and I don't know when I'll be getting it back...Sorry it’s curled too, I took it home so much I had to roll it up so it’s stuck like that XD
We were given a picture of a hallway in our school, were told to draw it for our perspective project, and then add in surreal stuff. Kudos to anyone that recognizes three …Easter eggs….I left in here for you I love dragons, but unfortunately I didn't design him. I saw him in a comic (and he had a goatee. Really lame. I didn't draw it XD) He was named "goatee dragon". Creative huh? The pose for my girl came from the same book. The chick looked…weird.
A lot of people traced the things for their drawings. I’m sorry, this is an art class. Isn’t the teacher supposed to teach us how to DRAW IT WITHOUT TRACING IT?! I had the picture of the dragon next to my paper, but I free-handed him. I dunno. It just confused me is all.
Soooo this was the first time I saw one of those tightly wrapped papers that let you shade better. It sucked. I went back to using my finger ‘cause it wouldn’t work for me xD Instead of shading it looked like it was smudging my work, ya know? I don’t know how to explain it, the paper thing worked for other people but it just made mine look crappy. Does anyone have any pointers for me with those things? The teacher just brushed over it quickly so I didn’t really get it…
Hope you enjoy!
EDIT: Drathi got Kirby & The Triforce. Hpanna-Chan got my avatar! XD
Update: I got it back and it was matted for the art show so it shouldn't be as curved as it was. It should be clearer too! XD
Thanks! I tried really hard on it. The first thing my teacher said was that it no longer looked like a hallway. I was like, "Uhhh...isn't that the point of it being surreal?" XD
Haha, actually the other easter egg thing WAS my avi! I assumed that would be the first one people would get, considering she is the center point --all of the lines in the background lead to her head. XD
All of my artsy friends tend to use their fingers as well, and I must say, they look better than my fellow students that used the tortillon...that's just a weird word! XD
Lord of the ring eye? (or is it just a normal eye)
Finger smudging works better. Haven't used a tortillon much. I just rub the paper with it using one side of the point X D

yeah. I think it works better for tiny areas and details
