Epic Pokemon Generation 1 Cross Stitch Complete by lizardlea Epic Pokemon Generation 1 Cross Stitch Complete by lizardlea

This took 130 days with 914 hours of work. (Okay, way less hours than that because I was constantly stopping but that's what got written down.) This means it took me less than one day to do a single Pokemon - I averaged about 6 hours per Pokemon.

Want to commission me? Send me a note and we can discuss! (No, I will not do something this big, it's insane!)
Here's my Etsy shop: [link]

Holy. Crap. You guuuuuys! I got a DD! Thank you so much, it means a lot! I will reply to every comment that I can and thank you all in advance for the favorites! <3

If you like the original Pokemon music and this cross-stitch, you should find some enjoyment out of me in this:

That's ok. What is the measurement of the fabric? I know it's 18count. Awesome work by the way :)

Is the link in the description not working again? It works when I click on it but the site can be temperamental at times, it should work eventually.
Thanks!

I am attempting this but I could only find 14 count Aida do you think that will be okay?

I am using 14 count. I couldn't find an 18 count, so I got an extra big 14 count, and it works just fine. I have about 30 extra stitches on both sides, and about 15 extra on the top and bottom. Since I made sure I had enough room it works the same.

I am attempting this project as a gift for my friend, and I'm having some problems :( (Sad)  How did you do the back stitching? The pattern you linked (which is the one I'm using) doesn't come with the back stitch on it, so I'm wondering how you did it or if you did it at all? I've just finished the first page, and I'm now at the dilemma of do I continue onto page two, or do I try and do the backstitching with no guide? Thanks for any help!

It's actually the very first thing I link to in the description~ I didn't make the pattern so I can't take credit for it but I'm sure Servotron would thank you for the compliment! :)

Love it! I was wondering, how much cloth did you get in order to do it? I've been wanting do do this one forever. o3o

:D I bought the largest fabric available to me, which was 30x36 inches. The final product is smaller than that but the other cloths (at least, ones that I can find) were all too small in comparison. I want to say I used 18 count Aida but it's been like, two years so I could be remembering wrong. XD It was either 18 count or higher though.

Hi, I'm thinking of making this as a gift, but I have never cross stitched before. I've done all my research, and have the pattern, but is it alright if I ask you a few questions?

I've heard of half stitch and quarter stitches; does this pattern have any of that? Is it entirely cross stitch, those "x" stitches? I've taken a closer look at the original design and all the symbols confuse me. I know they may be just the color symbols, but I want to make sure. Thanks for your time.

You should definitely work on a small project first just to make sure you enjoy doing it. Jumping into a big one only to learn you hate it will be disappointing.

And for that, nope, this pattern has no half or quarter stitches. Every single stitch is a full one because the designer used the original Pokemon pixels which are all full squares/boxes/etc. All of the symbols are only for the corresponding color so you don't need to worry about that. :) There also isn't any back-stitching so you don't have to outline anything. The project itself is actually pretty easy as far as complexity goes but it is VERY big and time consuming -- and costly.

Well done!!!!  I'm working on this one right now too!  Top down, i'm on ekans and pickachu right now.  been a long haul.  I did notice that the pattern called for DMC 947 for things like voltorb, but found that color 666 worked much better.  947 is too orange, imo.  guess that'll make my finished project really mine eventually.  :)

Ooooh, good luck! I hope you've been enjoying it so far and stick to it for the long run! :D There were a lot of times when working that I thought another color would work better. The only color that, now with it being finished, that I regret not changing was Dratini and the background. Seriously, that color IS Dratini's! ; w;

Hey im on sprite stitch where the pattern came from atm I cant download it as my computer is broken ... but could you tell me the stitch dimention like how many stitches wide and how many stitchs down please :)

Congratulations on this epic piece I dunno if ill have the patience for it but I guess that it would be well worth it ...

So you doing the other generations now ? :p ?????

Well doing the math with Servotron's measurement on 18 count Aida, it'd be 450 down by 256 across aaaaaaaaaand opening the pattern proves that correct! Woo hoo, I can math correctly! :D lol

Thank you! <3 If you like cross-stitching I don't think it'll take an patience at all. I loved every minute of it.

Haha, noooooo. I might do Gen. II some day, but I'm not big on the other generations. I stopped watching the show when Misty left and I've only played up to Silver version so I'm not that familiar with the later Pokemon.

Not a problem, glad I could help! I get a lot of questions I can't answer and I always feel bad about that.

Haha, yeah, starting with fabric that's too small would be...soooooo depressing! I was really worried about mine so I started quite close to the top left corner. Made it difficult to do said corner with the hoop I used but the rest was okay.

Ooooh, I've seen the Zelda stain glass window, so nice! <3 I pretty much bought all of the colors before I was even a quarter of the way, don't regret it one bit. It'll be difficult to do it in secret but also get it done in under a year - especially if you have classes or a job. You gotta work on it every chance you have! Aaah, I love cross-stitch challenges~ xD <3

Well it's officially been started as of today ...I've startedvin the bottom left corner with balbasaur :) your right it does go pretty fast im planning on doing all the black first :/...

Quick question ive noticed on the pattern that I have white squares that have a "m" then right next to the white squares with no symbol did you encounter this if so what did you do ? ... did you leave the square blank ? Thanks for encouraging and inspiring me to start this :D

I've seen a lot of people start from the bottom, I always start from the top of all my projects. xD I must be weird or something~ Make sure you're careful if you're only going one color over all of it, one mistake and you could mess it all up! D:

Uuuum...Well it's been almost 2 years since I finished it and I don't remember that at all but if there are any blank ones (and they're clearly supposed to be white) I would make them white. Having random spots with no thread would look really weird to me.
